Music has always been an integral part of Methodist worship. Music at First United Methodist Church begins with our youngest children and continues through our seniors. Ably led by our Minister of Music, Lester Williams, and our Youth Choir director, Kim Hunter, we continue this Methodist tradition with a variety of choirs, handbell choirs, and the contemporary music of our Solomon's Porch Band.Click on the button below each group's description to hear a sample of its music.

Support the E. Clay Milby Music Education Scholarship The Music Committee of FUMC, Valdosta, sponsored the production of a CD of Mr. Milby's sacred music. It was produced from the music on his 1968 LP vinyl album. Most of the "pops" and "scratches" have been removed. Sales from this CD help provide us with the funds needed we need to award the E. Clay Milby Music Scholarship to deserving students. Currently two young people who are very active in our church and are studying music at Valdosta State University, are recipients of this scholarship.
